– Investments in SMEs is an exceptional call, carried out on the basis of changed rules, which were made possible by the European Commission and the so-called Special Fund Act, accelerating the process of organizing calls for proposals from EU funds. After each round, which lasted 2 weeks, we immediately started the formal and substantive assessment so that the funds were transferred to companies from the region as soon as possible. As a result, immediately after the closing of the competition, we have already selected the projects submitted for funding in the first round, the relevant resolution was adopted by the Voivodeship Board on June 30. Out of 175 applications, 112 will receive funding for a total amount exceeding PLN 66 million, of which as many as 93 applications concern micro and small enterprises, and 19 medium-sized enterprises – comments Krzysztof Spyra, director of the Silesian Centre for Entrepreneurship. Such a quick settlement of the first round is a great merit of the employees of the Silesian Center for Entrepreneurship and their titanic work, for which I am very grateful,” adds director Spyra.
